How can I reduce data of a video to suit to YouTube?

I try to modify a Video I took with my GoPro camera.
Even on low resolution of the camera it is still an awful lot.. ~1MB per second!

I hoped with this Video Editor to be able to modify the video like you can do with a photo, to reduce its parameters to make it manageable for upload to Youtube and E-mails.
