How can I capture video from a USB or firewire devices?

Asked by Juanma

Hi.

I am starting in Linux (Mint distro) and I would like Openshot for video editing, but I wonder how can I capture video from a USB key (from analog videoplayer) or firewire (from a videocamera) with Openshot.

Thanks
Juanma

Hi,
NO you can't with Openshot until now. This feature has been asked.

You must use dvgrab for doing that. I've already given the command line
recently but I'm not able to find this thread. It is for firewire of cours.

For usb , once time you have done your record with another software, you
can import your file like others files in oepnshot.
