daily build ubuntu deb package depends on python-mlt and does not support python-mlt3

Asked by Javier-puche-u

Dear OpenShot developers,

We maintain an Ubuntu based education distro (MAX MAdrid linuX) and users report inestability issues with openShot. I try to install latest daily build for Ubuntu 12.04-1 (our distro is Ubuntu 12.04-5 based with gnome3-fallback or xfce) but I see that it depends on: python-mlt|python-mlt5|python-mlt2 and thus it does not support the python-mlt3 that comes with Ubuntu. I just wanted to know what changes you do apply to your ubuntu 12.04 machines for running daily builds.

Our users report openShot runs better in LMDE (Mint Debian Edition) I am looking at differences and I see LMDE comes with python-mlt

Thanks for any help. Best Regards,

Javier.

Hi,

>>>and users report inestability issues with openShot

Update your MLT version : Take a look at this FAQ :
https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1861
This one can help you too : https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1859
https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1859
Thanks.
And now we are on 14.04/Mint 17 for the Openshot Qt 2.0.

Thanks a lot! And congratulations for your great work!

I see the posts get quickly outdated and now is python-mlt6 that is in
your repos.

Hello again,

I see that latest daily build continues to depend on either
python-mlt, python-mlt5 or python-mlt2. In the kdenlive repo python-mlt5
is no longer there, there is python-mlt6 but openshot daily build will
not recognise it. I tried with phyton-mlt and it works (same
inestability issues) I would like to know if using python-mlt5, or 6 if
possible, could improve anything. Thanks for any help or links to where
they might talk about it.

Regards.

I have Ubuntu 14.10. Using Synaptec, I searched for "libmlt", found multiple items, and installed them all.

ADDING MLT DOES NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM.

The Problem is.. Opensource will not compile audio with video. The compiled mp4 file has video: but no audio, no codecs, nothing at all.

Can anyone help please?

Can you help with this problem?
