To add text to your video. Go to Title, then New Title (Ctrl+T). Choose the type and position of the title you would like. Then select Create new title, name it then select OK. You can then enter the title and/or sub-title. Then click apply. Select Use Advanded Editor. From there you can add more text, text boxes, realign, etc. When you are finished editing close it and save. Then select apply. Now you have a .svg image file. You can now drag it to your timeline and add it to your video. Right click it on the timeline and choose properties. Now you can set when on the timeline you want it to start and how long you want it displayed, any transitions, etc. Repeat this process to add more throughout the video.

Remember that Track order counts also. For example put text on track one and video on track two. Track one is on top of track two, which is on top of track three, and so forth. If you have your video on track one and text on track two you will not see your text.
