thought I was installing 1.43 but it was 1.4 - tried to update but still 1.40 - does 1.43 have the dark screens - thanks

I thought that I was installing the version with the dark screens (1.43?) . When I checked "about" it said 1.40 and it is the white screen version. I am trying to install the dark screen version that I see on youtube. I am running Mint 13. thanks

Under the preferences menu, you can change your timeline theme to the dark version. On your Mint settings, you can change your desktop theme to a dark theme, which will turn the rest of OpenShot dark. Good luck!
