How to set the length of each image to 20milliseconds

Asked by Marius

Each imported image is automatically set to a length of 5 seconds or 1 second if set as default in preferences. Can't make it less than 1 second. Once imported into the timeline, the video runs much to slow. How can i change to 20 or 30 frames per second? Thanks

Yes you can do it easliy.

Go to Preferences (use CTRL + P for sample). Select the item for change this value, type 0, and your value. Don't use the dot just decimal point.

Thank you Cenwen
The Imported Image Length field does not accept a decimal point. And is the
decimal point not the same as a dot?

Thank you Cenwen
Unfortunately, the comma is not accepted as a decimal point either. In
fact, only numbers and the + are accepted in the Imported Image Length
field.
I am using version 1.4.0 as downloaded from the Ubuntu Software Centre.
May i suggest to also allow the dot . as decimal point as is common in
English speaking countries.

Marius

You seem to use an old version (1.4.0), its could explain perhaps this situation. The last is the 1.4.3.
After, if all works well, dont touch it.
But if you want to update it, follow this faq's :
update OS : https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1850
update MLT : https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1850

1.4.3 allowed to set the duration of each image (the Imported Image Length) in 0.01 second steps which is adequate for my purposes. Problem solved.
