In which case it is not successfully installed :)

Try running it from the terminal, by typing openshot. You should hopefully see some error messages that might be helpful.

Error Message: unknown locale: en_NG

I don't know how to fix that error specifically. Is your system up to date with all latest updates? Something about that locale is messed up. If you try setting your locale to en_US or en_GB does it work?

I tried to use update manager to update the system and it shows that system is up to date. I also tried to reconfigure locale.

 ictmedia@ictmedia-G31M-ES2L ~ $ sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales
[sudo] password for ictmedia:
Generating locales...
  en_AG.UTF-8... up-to-date
  en_AU.UTF-8... up-to-date
  en_BW.UTF-8... up-to-date
  en_CA.UTF-8... up-to-date
  en_DK.UTF-8... up-to-date
  en_GB.UTF-8... up-to-date
  en_HK.UTF-8... up-to-date
  en_IE.UTF-8... up-to-date
  en_IN.UTF-8... up-to-date
  en_NG.UTF-8... up-to-date
  en_NZ.UTF-8... up-to-date
  en_PH.UTF-8... up-to-date
  en_SG.UTF-8... up-to-date
  en_US.UTF-8... up-to-date
  en_ZA.UTF-8... up-to-date
  en_ZM.UTF-8... up-to-date
  en_ZW.UTF-8... up-to-date
Generation complete.

I tried to change the locale to en_US.UTF-8 but there was no change.

ictmedia@ictmedia-G31M-ES2L ~ $ sudo update-locale LANG=en_US.UTF-8

Hmm, well unfortunately I don't know much about the locale system, so not sure what else to suggest.
