Webm Support?(Fedora 18)

Asked by Artur Conley

Hello! Currently I'm using Fedora 18 and I'd like to do some video editing. Fedora 18 comes with a Webm desktop recording feature and I'd like to put it to use. I recorded a desktop session and attempted to edit it with Openshot 1.4.3 and when I attempted to import the faile I got a message box which said "OpenShot does not support this file type." Can you please help me get this working?

Namaste!

Hi,

Openshot works without any problems with the Webm format if you have the good version of FFmpeg (you know this famous right licenses).
If you were on a Debian/Ubuntu system, I could point you on either Medibuntu repository, either Debian Multimédia, either Sven'PPA but unfortunately, I don't use Fedora.
If I could give you an advice, you should take a look at the Fedora Documentation or on their forum if you don't find the solution. I'am pretty sure that a documentation exists on this subject, you are not alone and the solution is written somewhere. Like this you could have too the support of H264, MP3;...
Good luck and welcome in the Linux World.

Can you help with this problem?
