Rendering on a remote server

Asked by gymbuntu

Hi,
I want to use openshot for video editing at our school.
Our workstations are pretty small, nervertheless openshot it running well and fast enough for
a decent work. But when it comes to rendering, especcially title rendering the computers are
to slow.
I have an 8core Xeon server sitting around, mainly as a fileserver and ldap server, which means
this machine is idle most of the time.
I already have installed blender there, too.

How can I use this remote Blender server with my openshot titles?

(Can I even use this remote server for rendering the whole movie?
This is done without blender as far as I know)

Thanks for your help!
Roland

I'm not sure if it will work on a remote server, I don't know if the Blender API we use can handle that. In the preferences, you need to specify the path of the Blender executable, if you can set the right path there to your server then maybe it will work.

Can you help with this problem?
