Asked by Bodo Bigalk

I have a long video file and need to cut it into scenes for further processing. Is there a way to do this automatically with openshot?

What is a recommended strategy for breaking a video into exported segments? The ability to export between two marks would be useful, but without that, I have a video of our concert and I have cut it into scenes for each song, and marked the cuts for easy navigation, but the only way to export one song at a time appears to be:

1) remove all segments except one
2) slide the remaining segment to the start
3) export the project
4) keep pressing undo until all segments are restored
5) repeat for the next segment

Originally I had tried hiding the other segments, but then I get a video the same length as the original, but with blank video and silence during the hidden segments; I would expect export to begin with the first visible/audible segment and end with the last.

Is there a better strategy for exporting segments from raw footage?

Can you help with this problem?
