regulating audio volume does not work: under 100% the sound disappears and above 100% does not seem to give more volume

Asked by GreyTiger

I put my video on 'spoor' (track?) 2 and music on track 1. However regulating the volume thru 'Audio' does not work: under 100% the sound disappears and above 100% the regulator does not seem to give more volume. Pleas advise

Hi,
Thanks for helping me think.
I use OpenShot 1.4.0 on Ubuntu12.04 on a Lemur Ultra System 76 64bt laptop an a Dell Inspiron 530 desktop 32 bt.

The problem exists on both machines: the volume in track 1 is not to be managed; Only at 100% there is sound, there is no sound alt all at a lower percentage, nor does the sound go up at a higher one. This is irksome, because on track 2 I want voices to be heard, therefor I want to turn down the music track to the background.

I followed the advice on https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1861. But so far nothing changed.

Have you use the stable or the svn version ? I don't like to give like advice to use it but if the stable version doesn't give you a best result try the svn version. Think to desactivate the stable before doing that and after desactive the svn version and re-active the stable version.
I am a bit surprised because I got none problems with the same version like you (i.e. this one which is in the official Ubuntu repository.

Have you update your version of Openshot too ? It can explain why you have some issues with. It is just a thought.

Can you help with this problem?
