Audio/video clip and sync problems when previewing.

Asked by Kam3bombh9k-dan-wph05ilav2k

I've imported some clips, cut them up a bit and overlayed some pictures and transition.. When I play the video from the beginning it run perfectly. If I put the play head anywhere but the beginning everything gets way out of sync...

The video will start at a later point then it should have and plays past the clip point for about a second.. I can't quite figure out what the audio is doing but it always begins with a 1/2 second buffer stutter.

I have an Nvidia video card, SLI with an ASUS motherboard w/ 4 AMD 64 CPUs. I just upgraded to the latest version of Kubuntu.

Thanks.

I should add that I seem to have to make the window very small for the program to even work at a decent speed. If I run it full screen the actual GUI runs unbearable slow. I switched to sdl_preview to a slight but not significant enough advantage.

Okay.. so it's very odd. The overlayed images sync to the audio perfectly. The video clip itself is always shifted when I start from anywhere but the begging.

When I stop the video the play-head now jumps back almost an entire second with a smooth animation. I can't seem to tell where to make my cuts based on the audio because I don't know where the actual play head is.

Okay, everything gets really messed up with the new cut. The audio is definitely now out of sync, even in the final exported rendering.

If you're using AVCHD files then seek/performance problems are not unusual.
