Titles don't render in Openshot 1.4.2

Asked by Darkn00b

I really like Openshot. Its very easy to use and pretty fast on my Toshiba laptop. The only problem I am having is that titles are not rendering in export. They display fine in preview (which plays at full speed btw - nice) but do not render on final export. Is this a known issue or a problem with my setup?

I am using:
Linux Mint 12
Openshot 1.4.2 (from stable PPA)

ffmpeg version info:
-----------------------------------------------------
ffmpeg 0.7.3-4:0.7.3-0ubuntu0.11.10.1
libavutil 51. 7. 0 / 51. 7. 0
libavcodec 53. 6. 0 / 53. 6. 0
libavformat 53. 3. 0 / 53. 3. 0
libavdevice 53. 0. 0 / 53. 0. 0
libavfilter 2. 4. 0 / 2. 4. 0
libswscale 2. 0. 0 / 2. 0. 0
libpostproc 52. 0. 0 / 52. 0. 0
-----------------------------------------------------

libavformat-extra-53 is installed from Medibuntu repos (version: 4:0.7.3ubuntu0.11.10.1+medibuntu1)

Please let me know if you need any further info; I will be glad to provide.

Hum no or perhaps it is for this issue with MLT : https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1859
Which format would you render ?
What is your version of MLT ?
If you have the official version (which one who are in Ubuntu), you should update her.
See here how to do that : https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1861

Exporting to TouTube 720p NTSC standard.

Upgrading libmlt4, libmlt-data libmlt++3 python-mlt3 melt now. will report on progress.

I anticipate this will solve my problems.

MLT updated via the link you provided above (https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1861). I am sorry to report that this did not have any effect. Perhaps it is something I am doing wrong.

Do you use the stable or the svn version of MLT ?

You should take a look at your dependencies (see here : http://openshotusers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1060), like this we could elimated this for trying to resolve your strange problem.

After doing all that, run openshot in a console, do the same thing that you have done previously (i.e trying to render a file) and put us here the output of the console.

Thanks.

Take a look at this thread (http://openshotusers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1053) and see if you got the same libraries. I got some doubts when you can 't render a file for Youtube which using the Medibuntu version of FFmpeg, even it seems me to be perfect at first look. :-(

This is very embarassing, but I figured out my problem. It has nothing to do with installed software or versions. I forgot my main video track had to actually be placed *under* the title tracks in the timeline. That was a stupid mistake and I apologise for wasting your time. Everything works as it should now.
