hi - how can I place an text over the video, or watermark it ?

Solution found: added a title, and moved it to the first video stream.

Use a image program called the GIMP. This is the simplest way.

1 start a new image
2 click the menu layer then move mouse transparency, click add transparency
3 ctrl+A to select all, then delete
4 add your text and save the image as a PNG file to keep the transparency.

After that you can add the png to your Openshot project and it will be a watermark
