animated title will not play says invalid

Asked by Craig Sears

Blender, the free open source 3D content creation suite is required for this action (http://www.blender.org).

Please check the preferences in OpenShot and be sure the Blender executable is correct. This setting should be the path of the 'blender' executable on your computer. Also, please be sure that it is pointing to Blender version 2.56 or greater.

Blender Path:
/usr/bin/blender

Error Output:
No frame was found in the output from Blender

Hello
I have Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - the Lucid Lynx

I have just installed Openshot and Blender using apt-get PPA commands. Both apps work OK.
I cannot get Openshot to associate with Blender. I get the same error message above.

The blender file is located at /usr/bin/blender.
If I type "blender" at a terminal, blender runs.

I have entered /usr/bin/blender into the preferences but no joy.
Openshot defaults to "blender" but this doesn't work either.

HomePC@Ubuntu-Desktop:/usr/bin$ ls -l blender*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 39011772 2012-01-06 12:34 blender
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 21928496 2012-01-06 12:34 blenderplayer
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 4393 2011-10-24 07:38 blender-thumbnailer.py

I have rummaged around the internet and this seems to be a common problem.

A precision the version of Blender must be superior at the 2.5.x, this features are only available in this version.
Thanks.

Hi

Thanks for your quick response. I followed the links and ended up at "submit a bug report".

I have Blender version 2.61.0 and Openshot 1.4.0 installed.

Just wondering if this is a file permissions issue.

Openshot is a great app.

Can you help with this problem?
