how do you type words in like credits and titles

Click 'Title' on Menu Bar. Then Click New Title.

Select your desired title style from the samples.

You can change color and font.

if you want to further customize it, click USE ADVANCED EDITOR.

you need to have inkscape installed for advanced editor to work.

Or you can just go straight to inkscape and create a title next time if you know the size of the layout for openshot clips.
