Why does OpenShot not alow me to export my video to vimeo

Asked by sebastian-s

according to the website/blog http://www.openshotvideo.com/2010/11/easy-upload-to-youtube-and-vimeo.html does support the upload to vimeo.
So does the Ubuntu Software centre state.
Today I've wanted to upload to vimeo and only youtube is available as upload option.

Reading http://www.openshotvideo.com/2010/11/easy-upload-to-youtube-and-vimeo.html it appears to me that the python version is the cause for the export not being available.

I've checked and my python is version 2.7.2 on Ubuntu 10.11
Is there a way to help on fixing this?

Hi,

Effectively, this problem is done with a version of Python which not updated for working with the Vimeo API. We have de-activated this function for the Vimeo Users unfortunately at our big deception. Like this, the user couldn't just upload the video on Vimeo and ...........report us a bug against something that we can do nothing.............until waiting a modification of the language for this API. There are nothing that we can do for the moment and when it will be possible, we 'll re-active it for this version (i.e.it will be always de-active for the version which brings some problems anyway.).
I am not aware of a modification at this level. And I don't know if we pass at Python 3.2, if it will be even resolved.
Sorry.

Can you help with this problem?
