Hi,
For update at the 2.5.7 version you must look here : https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1566
Normally, you have nothing to do about the list proposed of effects.
Thanks.

wait. it still says

Blender, the free open source 3D content creation suite is required for this action (http://www.blender.org).

Please check the preferences in OpenShot and be sure the Blender executable is correct. This setting should be the path of the 'blender' executable on your computer. Also, please be sure that it is pointing to Blender version 2.56 or greater.

Blender Path:
/usr/bin/blender

when i used that ath in the terminal, it opened... methinks i messed up somewhere

here is what the terminal says :

-Compaq-Presario-CQ60-Notebook-PC:~$ openshot
--------------------------------
   OpenShot (version 1.3.0)
--------------------------------
state saved
Not the primary instance of OpenShot. Not starting queue watcher thread.
on_mnu3dTitle_activate called with self.GtkImageMenuItem
on_treeTemplates_button_release_event
Done with Render() method

No you are not using the good way. You have misunderstood how to process. The blender 'path that you have just check, you must copy/paste and replace at the location of the Blender executable in the Preferences first tab (general). This action will replace at this location the correct path. After you could use the Animated Title 3d.
I hope that you have checked when you have run the command above that it is the good version of Blender.

I understand you just fine, thank you.

I did what you said.

YES. I checked.

and NO. it does not work.

For you to be a support aide, you talk to me like an imbecile. Frankly, I do not deserve that. Not once did I talk down to you. Learn some respect, sheesh.

Frankly, NO. It was not my intention and it is always not my intention.
We are bringing some help follow the indication that people gaves us.
For you, Either it is a translation error (but i have yet some doubts) of my part either you have worse explain you.
Textually, you have said :
>>Blender Path:
/usr/bin/blender

when i used that ath in the terminal, it opened... methinks i messed up somewhere

How can I understand that ?
For me you have ran this command in a terminal (that's good for checking the path and the version by the same occasion) but you have not copy/paste this command in the good location. I am here for helping you not to take you for an imbecile.

Another last thing. Just an advice. You seem to be new in the Linux World. If you wish to have some help (not only for the Openshot project), explain well your problem and not be furious under the person who adempt to help you.
That, this the respect. Anyway, if you do each time like this, you will not have a lot time some helps (and not only of my part, it is general).

Can you help with this problem?
