Use of Flash files

Asked by mikefreeman

This isn't really an issue or problem, and therefore is probably in the wrong place, sorry! Anyway, are there any plans for future versions of OpenShot to allow importing of Flash files (.swf) into a video project? I can very easily create Flash animations for things like custom titles (beyond what OpenShot/Blender does), transition animations between scenes, and other nice effects. However, I can't seem to be able to import them currently. Could this be a possibility in the future? Maybe using Gnash or SWFDec or other open source tool? Or even captures from the official Adobe Flash browser plugin? Thanks!

Hi,
I don't know. It seems me that this question was put down but I don't remember where.
Anyway, if ffmpeg doesn't take this formats, it will be not possible. So, do that for checking :
ffmpeg -formats
Thanks.

I checked with ffmpeg -formats, and it says it supports .swf Flash
files. Not sure which version it supports, however. But at least if
OpenShot could support Flash at any level, I can compile the files for
whichever format it supports (down to a certain level, anyway - version
6 or 7 is the lowest, I think).

What give you the following command with a .swf file ? I have a doubt.
melt myfile.swf
ffplay myfile.swf

Yeah, both of these commands came back with errors:

Ah It is very bad because MLT doesn't take this format and FFmpeg who is needed for MLT because they are working in a straight relation can play it.
And then (like the both can not work with ) it is impossible to implement this.
Sorry.

So, would it help for me to send a message about this to the authors of
FFmpeg or MLT?

Here are the link of their bug tracker.
FFmpeg Team : http://www.ffmpeg.org/bugreports.html
MLT Team : http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=96039&atid=613414

And about the subject you must said that the command (melt/ffpay) for this type of file doesn't work. Give us more explanations for the format (and how to have/create this file).

Good luck.

Can you help with this problem?
