Static plays in the audio anytime I play a video within OpenShot

Anytime I try to play a video in OpenShot, the audio plays with a lot of static. No other video player on the system (vlc, totem, ffplay) has this issue.

Installed from the PPA on Ubuntu 10.10 x64.
