trimming excess from project size

Asked by Rick Cleland

I created a project size of 60 mins but all my add-in files only come to 28 mins. The problem is that when I reopened the project the files began 10 mins into the time line. Moving each file along to the front has proved awkward because they were not all on the same track and it is extremely difficult to align them like I had them overlaying etc., sound, vision mixing as well.
I tried making DVD (renamed to *.mpg) so I could import and trim BUT that degraded the quality to the video.
I can't find a way to resize the the project or trim the "blank" section from the timeline.

I found the answer myself. I discovered that the RIGHT CLICK - "Shift Clips" moves all the clips together per track.
What I did in my case:
I moved the Red Line Cursor to the start of the first clip. Put a green marker there. Noted the time position shown. (9mins 54 secs). I right clicked on the first clip; chose Shift Clips and entered -594.0 into the box (being the time in seconds). Hit enter and all the clips in that TRACK moved toward the start (0.0) position. because each Track had clips in different positions, doing the same process with the same -594 value kept them accurately in relation to the other tracks. :)
Thank you for developing this great programme.
