How to start on my own?

Asked by cdpivotraze

Hello, launchpad users, and potentially developers.

I'm wanting to make my own video editor for the learning experience, but don't exactly know where to start. I already chose MLT as the video framework (there is no comparison between the power of PiTiVi and OpenShot...) and now I need to know how exactly to start?

Should I design the window first, or make the rest of the behind-the-scenes coding?

Hi,
You have here all the dependencies for having an functional installation of Openshot : http://openshotusers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=372
You have here a manual in HTML version available in several languages : http://openshotusers.com/
You have the same version installing the package : openshot-doc

Can you help with this problem?
