Zoom in produces picture that 'shakes' as the zoom occurs

Asked by Alwyn Barry on 2010-06-18

I really like OpenShot - thanks so much for it! However, one big issue makes it a 'no go' at present ... when you zoom in on a picture the picture 'jumps' as you zoom in. It's almost as though the zoom code reworks the picture so that the new centre is in a different location, so causing the 'jump'. Is there any way to overcome this? It's rather a show-stopper given that zoom or 'ease in/out' functions are quite common in slide-show productions. Sadly, I had to go back to M$ Moviemaker for a recent project, which also meant I actually had to boot windows for the first time in ages!

There's no way around this at the moment. However, the good news is that Dan @ MLT has been working on this very recently, it should be fixed in the next release of MLT (which is the underlying library Openshot & Kdenlive use).
