Spreadsheet functions not working

Whenever I enter a function, e.g., "=IF(A1=1,1,0)", a #NAME? error is generated.

Using GNOME's Synaptic feature, I've loaded all of the OpenOffice packages that seem possibly relevant, but the error persists.

I just won't be able to stop using Excel if I can't solve this problem. Any hints would be appreciated!

The correct sintaxis is =IF(A1=1;1;0), OK
