Is it possible to write applications from scratch using OpenObject Framework?

Asked by Pedro Costa

I would like to know if Ican write applications using OpenObject Framework, completely independent from OpenERP. I wonder if can use concepts, architechture, server and everything from OpenObject from scratch, without include any of OpenERP code. I want to write an application unrelated to OpenERP.

If answer the answer from this question is Yes, would I be subject to the same license, e.g., AGPL, right?

Thanks,

Pedro

Yes it is possible, though some useful features are in the "addons" project (decimal precision, email integration...).

Modules cannot work independently of the server, so they must be AGPL-compatible - you can get an exception license through the paid support contract if you care..

yes, it is possible to write from scratch using the concepts and architecture of openobject without using its single source code like Linus Torvald did for Linux kernel from scratch using the concepts and architecture of unix kernel..

Can you help with this problem?
