how to change the help text of a field without rewriting the field definition in .py file

is it possible to change the help text of a field in a class (it's not localization), without having to redefine the field in a new .py file by modifying DB values? Is it possible to be done via XML statement?

I don't think it is possible.

Here are the attributes for the field tag:

You can do it by CSV http://doc.openerp.com/v6.0/book/8/8_20_Config/8_20_Config_menu.html#translation-through-a-csv-file
or maybe by PO file too
