Setting edit permission to particular users

Hi all,
      Kindly help me to solve the issue with the openerp crm. Now i am working on the case management in crm. How to set control on certain user, such that he cannot do edit other user's cases. But he has to see other's cases, but he doesn't have a permission to edit them. How to set this?
   Please help me to solve this issue.

hello,
my major version of openerp is 5.0.15 but i believe it can also work in 6 too.
the first thing you have to make is to categorize ur users into groups.then give that particular group an access to objects and object methods in administration menu of openerp.
this is how to set permissions after u set the groups:
Openerp-client-5.0.15>administration>Security>access control>search for crm and edit read,write,create and delete permissions for interested groups.
you can also work with access control grid and give permissions with w,r,c,u keywords.
