FIFO inventory method ?

In description of Stock module we can read that it provide FIFO inventory method. What does it mean?

What I see we can just set Forcing of lots in Receiving, Producing and Shiping. When FIFO is mentioned system should of course require Production lot during Receiving Goods, but then should propose the oldest lots for Internal moves, Production consumption moves and Shiping out. I cannot see that OpenERP does it. All created moves are without any Production lot. Should I set something?

And even when Production lot is required it is no control for lot quantity. System controls just exceeding of whole location quantity. When you exceed lot quantity available it is no error message or even warning. And the Lot quantity goes to negative value. Should it be treated as bug?

* In Production Order :

in production order you have to manually give the production lot and traiking lot in the two following tab.It is not created automatically.:
1. from consumed product tab.
2. from finished product lot.

*In product it will show the negative stock only when you forcefully assign availability otherwise it will always show positive.if the product will go to negative stock then from the product form it will be show in red color.

* So we have to assume it is no FIFO functionality. Inventory method is "Manual".

* You are right if all lots has a lot number assigned. If some number of products are without lot number it creates situation described by me. I am not sure if it should be treated as error because it can be avoided by lot forcing in purchasing. But if it is not forced you can have as following:

Observe the Stock by lots view in Location L1:

Name Quantity Lot nr
Product_A 5 <- no lot
Product_A 5 LOTB0001

Create Internal move:
Product_A 7 from location L1 to location L2 with no lot.
It will be no error message.

You get the following stock in location L1:
Name Quantity Lot nr
Product_A -2 <- no lot
Product_A 5 LOTB0001

I have no opinion if it is very special case.

Are they any plans to implement some automatic FIFO lots order in moves?
And maybe you know if FIFO costing is planned in future?
