What does the "requested date" in the sales order do?

Hi,

with the module "sale_order_dates" 3 new fields are shown in a sales order. One of them is "requested_date". I can set it to whatever I like, but it does not seem to have any influence on the created MRP production orders. Is it used in the system anywhere at all?

In v7.0 it's only informative. In v8 it sets the expected delivery date
in the stock moves.
I can't remember if it also changes the procurement dates, but if it
does it should impact the MRP/purchases date too.
