As far as I know, there is no module to handle the quality status of a
stock (accepted/rejected/needs control) in OpenERP.
This would be a major advancement for our food factory however, so if
others are interested in a joint development please let us know.

Lionel,

We propose that there should be a blueprint where we all can specify inputs and the collected effort will make a generic feature.

Thanks.

can someone in Openerp confirm that such a basic functionality required for any manufacturing industry
is missing ?

Typical Quality control workflows in OpenERP are handled by chaining the
stock locations together, you should seek a consultant which will make the
design choices for your business and OpenERP workflows.

You can find more info on the chaining of stock moves in the book
"Integrate your logistic processes" published by OpenERP. See Chapter 6
"Your Warehouse"

Niels

I would even say this should be tackled as a project on its own.
I created one here : https://launchpad.net/openerp-stock-status
and I filed a blueprint stub here :
https://blueprints.launchpad.net/openerp-stock-status/+spec/openerp-stock-status

I wish I could write a quick summary of our point of view, but I won't
have time until next week at least.
If someone has full-time resources to assign to this, I will of course
give or share the ownership of the project

Lionel.

Dear suscribers,
I've finally been writing a draft spec here - sorry for the delay : https://blueprints.launchpad.net/stock-logistic-warehouse/+spec/openerp-stock-status
Can you please check if it would answer your question ?
