Account balance on specific date

Hello, I'm interested to know how OpenERP calculates the account balance on a specific date.

If I look at the field 'balance' at account.move.line, it calculates the account balance on each move line, but considers all the previous move lines on the same account, by comparing the internal id. Howerver, this approach poses a problem. What would happen if a user wants to post a move line in the past? For example, some entries that should have been posted on a previous month, but the moves were not entered on time.

Hello Jordi,

The current calculation seems working accurate. It simply uses the date upto which the Posted/ALL move lines need to be taken into consideration.

Can you simplify : "For example, some entries that should have been posted on a previous month, but the moves were not entered on time".

If entries are posted, their balance will be considered as per the date specified on move.
