Report engine, export from OpenOffice: KeyError('report. Is this a bug?

Asked by Alex Novozhilov

Hi,
OpenERP documentation asserts that someone has easy way to make reports in OpenOffice and load it into OpenERP without any programming. But when I was trying to do it I had found unexpected effect.
I open OpenOffice, connect with server, create simple report, post it on server. Then I open OpenERP client, click Administration->Settings->Low level objects->Reports and I have seen my report. Moreover I have seen print button in corresponding form. But when I click on this button I have an error:

"<type 'exceptions.KeyError'>, KeyError('report.product.frontol.pricelist.line.rndLnQTX',), <traceback object at 0xb2dbc0c>"

The service name in report setings is "product.frontol.pricelist.line.rndLnQTX". Where is "report." prefix come from?

having used OpenOffice Report in v5 and WebKit Report in v6 I suggest to forget OpenOfficeReport.

Yes WebKit requires to code html but you get what you code and a module which is likely to run in the next version
