[crm] Having both a dead and a lost CRM stage

Asked by Daniel Watkins (credativ)

Hello,

Our client differentiates between an enquiry that has gone dead, and an enquiry that they have lost (i.e. they have actively been rejected/out-quoted). OpenERP Opportunities only have the Lost stage (and the code only supports a single such stage). I'd appreciate any thoughts on how best to implement the client's requirements.

Kind regards,

Dan

Dan,

You may opt to have different stages 'Lost','Dead','Rejected'.

Base on this, you can filter your leads I guess.

Thanks.

Hi Dan,

I would recommend you consider a classic pipeline model. This setup is common in many solution selling business 2 business companies - if they are disciplined about their pipeline.

Sequence Stage Name Probability (%)
1 Stage 0 - New Assigned 4.0
2 Stage 1 - Qualified 5.0
3 Stage 2 - Sponsor Identified 15.0
4 Stage 3 - Decision Maker Engaged 30.0
5 Stage 4 - Proposal 40.0
6 Stage 5 - Decision Due 60.0
7 Stage 6 - Pending Sale 85.0
8 Stage 7 - Won 98.0
90 Lost - No Decision 0.0
91 Lost - To Competitor 0.0
92 Delayed - No Decision 5.0

I hope this helps.

In addition, company may want more specifics around 90, 91, and 92. So at time you may add a new field.

Can you help with this problem?
