base_contact: creating contact and an address from it does not fully associate the contact with the address

Asked by ceg

I'm currently not able to reproduce this from my notes:

Create a new contact and a new private address from within the contact's "address and functions" form.
When done with saving both, look up the address through the Menu "Addresses" (the new tab still says "Partner Addresses" but private addresses are correctly listed). Notice that the new address is listed without the contact.

Doing it the other way around (creating a new address and a new contact from within the form) seems to get the relations right in both directions.

Possibly related: The latter record (new address->new contact) can be converted into a new partner's contact by opening the address and creating a partner from within the form, whereas trying this with the former (new contact->new address)does not get the info into the new partner's record.

Hello,

While creating a contact you create a new functions and address. In this one2many field you'll find another field 'address' when you create a new functions and address. Now in the address field you'll again find a one2many field 'contacts'. So if you create a new contact here you'll have two contacts for one address. So when you are creating functions and address you don't need to give a contact in that. It will automatically have the contact in which we are creating the record.

So there's no need to do so. Everything is working as it should. Still if you have any queries please let us know.

Thanks.
