copy of entries to another account

Asked by Joel Cabral

Do you have a solution to this scenario?

at the end of the year my P&L should be carried over the next year in one of my balance sheet account. Is it present in the current set up of OpenERP? I try the 'consolidation' function but this only make my P&L child of my balance sheet account.

i. e. P& L
Profit and Loss 1,500,000.00
     INCOME 500,000.00
             .............. 430,000.00
             .............. 20,000.00
             .............. 50,000.00
    COST OF GOODS SOLD 100,000.00
             ............. 30,000.00
             ............. 60,000.00
             ............. 10,000.00

then in one of my account in balance sheet named "Retained Earnings" I want the value of my P&L to be passed in this account once the year end.

thanks,

Hello Joel,

This facility is already implemented for Indian Account chart (l10n_chart_in) and related reports are exist in account_reports_india module.
Inside this report whatever profit or loss are calculated, Will transfer this balance into Balance Sheet report .Finally balance sheet will equal.

Thanks.

Hi vra,

Thanks. I'll check that.

I have another question, How can I insert my P&L ending balance if my P&L doesn't have debit/credit entries. All I have is the balanced amount.

Lets say I have this from my previous year (2009) but I don't have the entries for this accounts. all I have is this.
Profit and Loss 1,500,000.00
     INCOME 500,000.00
             .............. 430,000.00
             .............. 20,000.00
             .............. 50,000.00
    COST OF GOODS SOLD 100,000.00
             ............. 30,000.00
             ............. 60,000.00
             ............. 10,000.00

Can I do this in Since I can't do this in entries encoding by move, can I do this in entries enoding by line, or derectly in postgresql using INSERT command.

thanks,

Hello Joel,

In account_reports_india module P&L balance is automatically transfer in the balance sheet report and show you balance sheet balance equal in both the side.
You can print both the report from following menu:
 Financial Management/Legal Statements/Accounting Reports/Profit And Loss Account
 Financial Management/Legal Statements/Accounting Reports/Balance Sheet
No need to create a separate move.

Hope this will help you.

Thanks.

Hi vra,

I'm aware of that now, but the problem is I don't have any entries encoded from the previos year so my P&L at present is zero coz I have just started using the system. But it is necessary to include the amount from previous year or do I have to encode all my entries (as in each entries) in the previous year or just encode the ending balance?

thanks,

Hello Joel,

This report will check the passing fiscal year (Through wizard) entries balance and on the bases of final account grouping it will show you P&L and Balance sheet report.

It depends on you that If you want to consider the previous year balance into new year account then you need to transfer those closing balance into new year.

Thanks.
