Discussion: Translation Issus [DE]

Asked by Thorsten Huber

Hello again =)

I made a lot of translation suggestions, but some details have to be more clearly before I can translate this in a proper way.

First question: I would prefer, as usual on social networks, to use the informal form of address. Please let me know you want. Lot of existing translations are in polite form of address

Next one is concerning the "All-of-this-category"-Topics. I thought about this in different ways how to write this in german, but in my opinion it sounds really ugly to and uncommon to adapt the given style. My suggestion is just to write under the main topic (like "All Food & Drink") just translate with "Alles" (that's the translation of "All") without "Essen & Trinken". Another option, even for other transaltion is, to write each time "all places" (in German "Alle Orte").

Third issue is the meaning of position (17) and (18). There are several different possibilities to translate this with different meanings in German. So, could you please give a short explaination of these points?

Last point for this question is more general. Some english texts are also a bit unusual. Maybe it's resulting from my lag of speaking english regulary. In some sentences I would add a word or change the order. If you are open for those suggestions, please let me know.

Greetings!
Thorsten

Hi SoftKnight. Thanks a lot for your help! :D
About your questions:

First question: Feel free of translate as you want :) We'll upload your translations to a development machine and you will view before the release ;)

Next one: Just "Alles" could be incomplete, because the user in the main web (openmarkers.com) will see only "Alles". "Alles" about what? :) But feel free in your translation :)

Position (17) and (18): Yes :) These are in the main web (openmarkers.com), at the end of Category. If you choose "Even more" openMarkers will not search places in the next web. If you choose anything else, openMarkers will set the city and search places for the selected category :)

English issue: Of course! The English isn't my native language. Will be great if you can improve my English :D

Thanks a lot for your interest and work! Awesome!
Cheers!
