Dashboard automatic refresh

Asked by forstera

Hello all,
I created a dashbor for my Helpdesk. Inside, I'd like to display new Helpdesk queries, so I createad an ir_act_window to display them with an automatic refresh. But when displaying my dashboard, the refresh seems not to work. But if I click on Menu Button Reload, there the updates are displayed.
So, is it normal that the Automatic refresh function is not working inside a dashboard ?

Thanks

Hello.

To refresh you _must_ to do it wih F5 in web client and ctrl+r in GTK client, this is not automatically when some records are loaded or changed. For us it works fine, i don't know if this answer your wuestion, if you want give us a little more information it would be great.

Hello forstera

I tested auto refresh with my dashboard.
Auto refresh is working in GTK client but not in Web client.
works when Auto refresh is set on ir_act_window of dashboard.

Hello Nhomar,
Thanks for your answer. I know that we can refresh the display of a view manually but my question was the following. When you create a dashboard, you first create action views. These actions views are linked to actions. When you create or edit an action, it seems that you can give a value for an auto-refresh rate (it seems that the value in in seconds, but not sure).

So, I created a dashbord to display the new helpdesk requests. But if I display my dashboard with theses requests and then create a new request from another computer, the view is not refreshed. The new entry is only displayed when I make a manual refresh.

So, my question was : is it normal that the Auto-refresh option of an action seems not to work into dashboards ?

Thanks for your help

Hello Zahir,

Thanks for your answer. I'm going to make a new test on my HelpDesk requests.
Can you tell me which value did you used for the Auto-refresh ?

Thanks

Hello Forstera.

In version 5.0 I'm almost sure that for technical reasons (ajax is not available on dashboards) the webclient is not able to refresh by itself on dashboard, you should refresh manually, i almost sure the Koo and GTK like sbh(axelor) said before can do this. In theory it should do, if not, post a bug on GTK-Client project.

I hope this help you.

It should be really cool if you link this question to a well explained blueprint, i think it would be great include functions like these on trunk!

I don't think it should be available on 5.0 because IMHO it is a big improvement that can break something else on stable version!
