departments access rights

Hi!

Can i add access rights to departments? I want to make departments who can record partners, but they can see just they own depatment's partners. Can i do this? A short how-to will be verrry pleased!

p.s.: openerp is just great!

Hello,

This can be achieved by Record rules.

Menu : Administration/Security/Record Rules : Here you may specify that what criteria to be applied for the object of partbners.

Use this rule for the group(s) assigned to your users.
