Hello joel,

In the internal move when you will create internal move then please make sure that the source location contains enough stock of selected product or not.If it contains stock then it will allow you to confirm the picking without using forcefully option.

Thanks.

Yes that's how it should be. But I'm having this problem validating the internal moves even if I have enough stock in my source location I can't set to available my products.. It's acting weird...

I've check my periodical inventory, I used the fill inventory function in the upper right pane of the window and included all child of the location I've selected. Lets say I choose location A with child location B and C. In Location B, I have 1000kgs (qty) of product X. When I try to move product X from location B to Location C with the quantity of 500kgs, I can't set to available the move. I have no idea whats wrong with this one. But some of my products is acting normal.

(This is another issue that might be the cause of my previous problem)
Here's another thing I've noticed in Periodical Inventory. When I use the Fill Inventory function, I have 1000kgs of products X in location B but when I confirm the inventory and checked my posted inventory, my quantity is zero (0) and the rest of the products.

Hello Joel,

In Periodical Inventory it will show only those move which has a source location which contain type inventory.
I do not understand you did define your all location with type internal and how can you say that the related moves will show you in posted inventory.

Thanks.

Oh I see. So theres no really a problem. I have a wrong assumption. So for me to see my available inventory in periodical inventory I have to set the location type to "inventory" instead of "internal Inventory"... Anyway, whats the difference between type "inventory and "internal Inventory". can't understand the definition stated in OpenERP book.

Thanks,

Hello joel,

Internal location is used to move product internally like one shop has a show room and warehouse. so when sell product to customer , product will come from warehouse.
Inventory location is directly related with shop, means if any product will sell to customer then inventory play intermediate role here, means internally shop will maintain its inventory.

Hope now you will understand what i wanted to explain you.

Thanks.
