switch click doesn't work in Raspbian

Asked by rquint

I've been trying out Onboard for a Raspberry Pi with the Adafruit PiTFT touch screen. The switch click doesn't work on a Pi running Buster. The rest of the Onboard keyboard works on the Pi.

 (Just to be sure I understood how it should work, I installed Onboard on a desktop running Ubuntu where it works exactly as described in the Help file.)

Switchclick doesn't work on Raspbian (Debian Buster)

I'm running Raspbian Buster
  cat /etc/os-release
    PRETTY_NAME="Raspbian GNU/Linux 10 (buster)"
    NAME="Raspbian GNU/Linux"
    VERSION_ID="10"
    VERSION="10 (buster)"
    VERSION_CODENAME=buster
    ID=raspbian
    ID_LIKE=debian

  uname -a
    Linux Buster-Lovett 4.19.66-v7+ #1253 SMP Thu Aug 15 11:49:46 BST 2019 armv7l GNU/Linux

with Onboard version 1.4.1-4+b1
  sudo apt show onboard
    Package: onboard
    Version: 1.4.1-4+b1

and I have installed mousetweaks
  sudo apt show mousetweaks
    Package: mousetweaks
    Version: 3.12.0-5

Is there anything I can do to test where the problem is?

OK. it was obvious (if only in retrospect): I had to change the setting in Preferences| Keyboard|Advanced|Input Options|Input Event Source to GTK instead of xinput.
