Auto Deploy Custom Settings ubuntu 1804

Asked by ian

Hi
I am using the default onboard from the ubuntu 1804 repos

I have customised Onboard settings to suit a particular type of machine that i build . I need to be able to auto deploy these custom settings using puppet so Onboard is deployed without having to re-configure each instance

I have hunted and cannot for the life of me seem to be able to find where onboard setting saves a confg file

Could someone please point me at the location of a config file or binary where these setttings are saved please

Kind Regards
Ian

Hi,

On Ubuntu, onboard stores its settings in the user's folder under .local/share/onboard.

But there is a system configuration file that allows to customize its appearance for the first start; please have a look here.
https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~onboard/onboard/trunk/view/head:/onboard-defaults.conf.example

Have a nice day.

Hi Thank you for your answer.

I have placed the file onboard-defaults.conf (renamed from onboard-defaults.conf.example into

/etc/onboard/onboard-defaults.conf

and edited the desired fields

This is now giving me a custom keyboard on boot

thank you !!!
