Change language of keyboard

Asked by Mark Mueller

How do I change the language of the onboard keyboard without changing my physical keyboard? I want my physical keyboard to remain 'English' but the onboard keyboard to be polytonic Greek.

Well I figured out how to display a Greek onboard keyboard, but now I can't figure out how to add breathing marks. They're not on the keyboard.

Any chance you could point me to a link that explains how to create a custom keyboard?

Hi,

The Onboard keyboard should normally honor the settings of the Desktop for the language and for the hardware keyboard. If your Desktop is set to Greek, the labels in the Preferences window for example should be in Greek. The typing keys of Onboard on the other hand follow the setting for the hardware keyboard.

Concerning the missing breathing marks, did you try the different keyboard layouts available in Onboard; for example the Full Keyboard layout available in the Preferences of Onboard? If so, and the keys you are looking for are not available, you will have to create a custom layout and add the keys you are missing to it.

Have a nice day.
