How to uninstall Onboard

Asked by Jeroen Heijmans

I've got a new notebook with touchscreen with Fedora 25 on it.
I wanted to try some on screen keyboards to see which was working best.

Onboard 1.3.0 was one of them, but how can I uninstall it?
If I have to do it manually, which files do I have te remove?

I had added some uninstall information to the README not too long ago, see here:
https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~onboard/onboard/trunk/view/head:/README#L137
It's not exactly a one-liner, but it should do the job.

Which keyboard did you settle on?

To be honest, I didn't find any good one.
The default doesn't always show up. Doesn't have Function keys and so on.
The other keyboards didn't give any result when typing.

Onboard wasn't working for me either.
The typing wasn't shown, the focus moved from the program to Onboard.
The extension crashes and didn't respond.
The originial keyboard kept popping up.
Onboard was switching on and off, at a certain time I couldn't even type normally had to kill the process.

I think it can have something to do with my system, but had to remove it to be able to continue.

Glad you have added the uninstall information.
Easy enough.

Yeah, that sounds like gnome shell on wayland. It's not your system, Onboard/Gtk aren't there yet. That's the last I wrote about it:

We're getting it done eventually, though, I believe. One way or another.
