Onboard Icon-Palette Position Lock

Asked by Daniele

Dear Developing team,

there is any way to lock (from the dconf-editor) the position and dimension of the floating icon (Icon-Palette) when the keyboard is hidden?
It will be very useful to prevent user to accidentally move it.

Thanks and Best Regards

Daniele

You might try setting the key /org/onboard/window/window-handles to an empty string. But I am not sure anymore whether it is what you are looking for.

Hi Francesco,

Many thanks!

Setting the key /org/onboard/window/window-handles to an empty string block the position of the Icon-Palette, excatly what I was looking for!

There are two of these, actually:
/org/onboard/window/window-handles is for the keyboard window and
/org/onboard/icon-palette/window-handles for the floating icon.

There is currently only one preference entry for both, though, at
Preferences->Window->Resize Protection->Window handles.
So, in order to affect the icon-palette only, you have to go through gsettings/dconf-editor. We should probably change that and have two drop-downs in preferences.
