Hi Christian,

Thanks for your interest in Onboard.

Your problem is known to us and unfortunately, we cannot do much about it. Onboard relies on the at-spi2 framework to get informed about events on the desktop. If an application does not cooperate with the at-spi2 framework, Onboard does not get the needed pieces of information from the application to react on it. GTK3 applications for example usually have good support for at-spi2, because of the GTK3 toolkit. There are libraries to add at-spi2 support to more applications. Command to type in the terminal that installs the libraries:

sudo apt-get install libatk-adaptor libatk-wrapper-java qt-at-spi libreoffice-gtk libreoffice-gtk3

However, please be aware that even with these libraries there are still applications (for example Chrome), that don't support at-spi2.

Hoping to have been helpful.

Have a nice day,

Francesco

The Onboard on-screen keyboard auto show feature works well with Google Chrome 112.0.5615.49 (Official Build) (64-bit) and Electron 19.

Can you help with this problem?
