floating icon enlarges in every minimizing onboard

Asked by kenn

Hi,
I made an unsuccessful distro upgrade attempt from 13.04 to 13.10 yesterday. In the end system run `configure -a` to revert the changes. When I rebooted I got my desktop back but it appears that settings changed. When I checked out the repository I saw that it uses 13.10 repo. But when I run `lsb_release -a` it gives me `13.04.

Trouble with onboard is that floating icon gets bigger in every minimizing.
What can be the problem?

Regards.

Does the icon get bigger vertically only? The keyboard itself might be subtly changing its height too. If yes, you might be experiencing the effects of bug #1242625.

If I remember correctly the workaround was to enable the "force to top" setting in the window tab in Onboard's preferences. Turning on window decoration would help with the keyboard window, but not with the floating icon. Once you upgrade to Ubuntu 14.04 this problem would most likely disappear.

What was the failure when you upgraded to 13.10?

Yes, it gets bigger in vertically but slightly in horizontally too.
When I switch to metacity wm there is no problem. So it is a compiz bug.
Thank you for fast responding.
I ll apply your suggestion.
