Complete Beginer here, how do I enable multitouch?

Asked by peter desevo

I don't know anything about code or writing it or writing in terminal. I'm completely clueless.

I installed the uTouch in the software center (ubuntu latest version) and I don't know where to go from there. Is there an app that is suppose to pop up? Like similar to compiz config?

I'm completely lost and all googling had no avail.

Do you have a multitouch device ?

Multitouch is an evolution of how people interact with their computers. You
don't need a specific app when you type with your keyboard or click on the
mouse, you just use it.

I have a magic trackpad. I can scroll with two fingers and right click with two fingers, the basic moves.

But I'm looking for the gestures, like a three finger swipe to activate expose(or ubuntu equivalent) or a two finger swipe left to go back a page.

Does this exist for ubuntu or did I read it wrong?

I believe the only gesture actually implemented outside of eog and evince is a 3-finger touch to activate window resizing. As you discovered, some gestures are also automatically translated into mouse actions.

More functions are still to come.
