nwfermi_daemon 64-bit

Asked by Jason Flatt

Is it possible to get a build of the nwfermi_daemon as a 64-bit executable? The Fedora x86_64 packages still include a 32-bit executable which is of no use in a 64-bit only OS. "file /usr/sbin/nwfermi_daemon" results in "ELF 32-bit LSB executable"

The project https://launchpad.net/nwfermi seems pretty dead. Last update was eight years ago.
Even the related web page http://www.nextwindow.com is not active any more (shows a "parked domain" page)

If you cannot find a working version, then you probably have to compile such driver yourself.

Remark: on https://launchpad.net/nwfermi you see on the right side a "Downloads" box. That contains a .deb file for Ubuntu 64 bit (nwfermi-0.6.5.0_amd64.deb). I assume that this contains a nwfermi_daemon executable for 64 bit, but this probably fails with dependencies that cannot be fulfilled.

The nwfermi_daemon is closed source. The .deb mentioned contains a 32-bit executable
