Can't see music notifications even after enabled it

Asked by Pierre-Luc Clermont

I've installed Nuvola player on Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS

Then after I did those command line

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install google-music-frame

Then I opened nuvola player and in the setting i've anabled all the features including notification.

I've logged in to my google Music account then started playing some tracks.

Everything seems working fine (control in the left launcher pannel, app can be seen in the volume tray, media buttons work fine). But even if I did reboot and clear cache or anything, I can't get the music notification working. The only time I get a notification is when I launch Nuvola from the volume tray. I get a "Nuvola Player" notification. But I can't get any notification for music change.

(I'm pretty new to linux and ubuntu so....be specific and clear please and if possible, with an how-to)

Hi. Do you have installed the latest Google Play update package?

Hi

Nope I didn't have hit.

After installing it with the link you provided me (as of today it is Google Play Music, version 3.16 - for Nuvola Player 2.0.x )
it fixed it.

Many thanks.

PS: for those who wonder, the download will be a tar.gz (compressed files). There is a readme in it. read it to see how install.
(in short, in nuvola you go to "add" at the botton of the streaming provider list, then you select the tar.gz and it's done.
