Can I debug nova if the Nova installed from apt-get way?

I want to debug the OpenStack nova(Kilo version). And I will install the nova in Ubuntu14.04 LTS, get the nova with "apt-get install". Once finished the installation, Can I debug the OpenStack nova?

There is a methold to build a remote debug openstack environment using pycharm.
